Then, explore the Antarctic Peninsula and its islands, where shore landings by Zodiac boats may include visits to 10,000-strong penguin rookeries, research stations, and elephant seal colonies. Humpback and minke whales, Adelie penguins, and whirling Antarctic petrels—among dozens of other species—are all in abundance and are not shy.
