A wonderful Yangtze River Cruise + more!
CHINA'S UNIQUE HERITAGE

November 6-22, 2008

Discover extraordinary sites in China, from Beijing to the giant pandas, Xi'an to the feathered dinosaurs, the dawn redwoods to a Yangtze River Cruise and Shanghai.

Explore historic hutongs (neighborhoods) in Beijing. See Tiananmen Square, the Great Wall, and at the Paleontology Museum learn about the fantastic discovery of fossils of the feathered dinosaurs.

Explore the fossil sites in the Chaoyang Basin, then fly to Xi'an, once the imperial capital of China and renowned for the amazing 2,300- year-old terra cotta warriors. See Chengdu, the grottoes at Dazu filled with Buddhist carvings, and then venture off the beaten track into the Wuling Mountains in search of the Chinese dawn redwoods. Only discovered by science in 1941, these ancient conifers were previously thought to only exist as fossils.

Our adventure will conclude with a delightful voyage on the Yangtze River and Shanghai.
