A WALK IN THE SWISS ALPS

Join us as we explore the enchantment of Switzerland! On our Swiss Walking Tour we will discover two of the finest areas in Switzerland for walking: Appenzell and Engelberg. We also visit two showpiece cities, Lucerne and St. Gallen. Our home base near Appenzell is in the hamlet of Schwende where we will stay 5 nights in a charming small Swiss country inn. We will explore the Appenzell area on daily walks of 4-6 miles (two to four hours), using trains or cable cars to reach vista points – Ebenalp (5,392 feet) and Hoher Kasten (5,884 feet) – from which to see the Alpine glory of Switzerland. Our second base, the resort of Engelberg, is situated in a dramatic valley surrounded by spectacular peaks – a walker’s paradise of glaciers, mountain valleys, vistas, and verdant meadows.
