FIJI ISLANDS
October
19–29, 2008
Bula!
Welcome to Fiji!
We
invite you to explore the heritage of this wonderful
island nation. You will have an opportunity to relish
the delights of Fiji from the delightful meke and lovo
celebrations to the spectacular marine life of the fringing
and barrier coral reefs. Travel down the Queen's Highway
to Suva, the historic capital city. Here we will visit
the wonderful Fiji Museum. Then fly to the fourth largest
island in Fiji—rugged Kadavu—to enjoy the
festivity, utter relaxation, and traditional life on
a Fijian isle. We will stay in comfortable bures (cottages)
at a small resort with easy access to local villages,
rainforest, waterfall walks, and snorkeling.

Learn
about Fijian culture and village life, and attend a
Sunday church service to enjoy the joyous singing, The
lush rainforests host a wide variety of birdlife, including
three species found only on Kadavu. The isolated villages
are very traditional so we will ask to speak to the
headman first. The Fijian people are exceptionally warm
and easy going. You will delight in Fiji!
